Classes
The Montreal chapter offers two sessions of ten lessons each: the spring session begins on the first Tuesday of April and finishes in mid-June. The fall session begins on the Tuesday of the week after the Labour Day holiday and continues until mid-November.
Classes are held at the Japanese – Canadian Cultural Association of Montreal. The professor is there at 6:30 p.m. to answer any questions and the class begins at 7:00, finishing around 8:30 or 9:00 (depending on the difficulty of the arrangement).
We ask you to bring a small pair of pruning shears and some newspaper to work on. If possible bring a vase (preferably ikebana style) and a kenzan (pin frog) or a piece of floral foam. It may be possible to use a kenzan and vase from the Centre (to be left there at the end of the lesson).
Individual lessons are $20 each ($16 for members of the Ikenobo society) and include the instruction and floral materials for that lesson. You may also observe one lesson, without participating, for free. Ten lessons cost $150 ($120 for members).
N.B. It is important to advise us 24 hours in advance if you wish to attend a lesson to enable us to purchase the correct amount of material. To advise us of your intentions, or for further information, please contact us at: cours@ikenobo.qc.ca
